Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Information, Dr. Awad bin Saleh Al-Awad, Asharqia Chamber will organize "Media and Media Professionals Forum 2018" on Wednesday 16/1/ 1440H (26 September 2018) at the headquarters of the Chamber in Dammam.
The meeting, which is held by the Chamber periodically for several years, discusses a number of topics related to the contemporary media reality and the prospects of working on this level.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber, Abdulhakeem bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, said that the Chamber has always held the meeting and invited the media and media personnel to participate in it in order to allow discussion of issues related to the media discourse and the successive developments on this level, and to achieve greater communication with the various media organizations in the region, in return for these institutions provide great services to society, especially in the economic aspect.
AlKhalidi pointed out to the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Information, Dr. Awad bin Saleh Al-Awad, as it will provide added value and great support to strengthen the relationship between the media and economic institutions in general. This will contribute to enriching the debate and dialogue with the media to deepen the partnership between the different parties and serve our development sectors in general.
AlKhalidi added that the great developments witnessed by our country, under the vision of the Kingdom of 2030, stresses the importance of the advancement of our media proposals in line with all these developments and transformations, and what we see on the ground is that the local media are making clear efforts in this regard, and witness tremendous developments in this aspect.
He pointed out that for the sake of more vitality and creativity in this area, Asharqia Chamber decided to have a contribution to support our media mobility in line with the comprehensive developments, and that this is done only in coordination and dialogue with the media institutions themselves.
Therefore, the Chamber has been holding a meeting of media and media professionals, which was supported by the Minister of Information Dr. Awad Al-Awad.
Al-Khalidi pointed out, "at present, we are witnessing clear growth and great progress in the media, which is making the world a single village, as the media is no longer limited to one or two means."
The media is no longer the person affiliated with an exclusive media establishment, but many people have become media professionals in one form or another through social media. Everyone uses the social media at different ages and levels of scientific, social and cultural, and all characterized by rapid and easy access to the recipient.
"Interactive" means that the "recipient" of the media message becomes a "sender" and has the ability to dialogue about all the information received and different data from any source. Therefore, "we live in a reality that involves many horizons, many areas of work, additional challenges as well, and a high ability to control the media landscape and guide it to serve the development scene" he added. Hence the importance of the meeting is to discuss and read the prospects and discuss these challenges with the first man in the media process, His Excellency the Minister of Information Dr. Awad.
In the meeting, we hope that the meeting will be productive and supportive of all our development options at various economic, social and cultural levels.
Al -Khalidi stressed keenness of Asharqia Chamber to communicate with various media institutions (video, audio and print) and that they find themselves with these institutions in a single path to serve the economy and society, and believes that its role is supportive of all public and private plans and trends. He pointed out that this communication and interest in information at Asharqia Chamber began with the date of the launch of the Chamber, as well as the horizontal expansion of the Chamber in providing the information documented and correct for the various media and publishing.
Al-Khalidi expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Minister of Information, Dr. Awad Al-Awad, for his interaction with the invitation of the Chamber to participate in the patron and attendance at this meeting, where he meets with colleagues and associates of the path in this long road full of hopes and aspirations.
He expressed his hope for the success of the meeting and other meetings and events held in Asharqia Chamber. He called on the media leaders, representatives, opinion leaders, intellectuals, and interested parties to participate in the meeting.
